Mel is a vibrant and grounded yoga teacher known for her energetic yet thoughtful approach. With a strong focus on alignment, strength, and feeling into the body, her classes are both powerful and deeply nourishing. She invites students to explore their physical and emotional experience with curiosity, creating a practice that’s as much about self-inquiry as it is about movement.

Inclusivity is at the heart of Mel’s teaching. She fosters a space where all students—regardless of experience—can explore the balance between strength and softness, stillness and flow. Her belief in yoga as a tool for personal growth underpins every session.

Mel trained at Triyoga with international teachers Michael James Wong and Adam Hustler, and continues to be inspired by teachers like Mia Togo, Radhika Das, Brody Bass, and Sarah Drai.

With over 15 years of practice and a previous career as a secondary school teacher, Mel brings clarity, confidence, and strong communication skills to every class.

Currently Mel is teaching six permanent weekly classes at both David Lloyd and from her home studio.

Off the mat, she’s a dedicated mother of four, a lifelong learner, and a lover of the outdoors. Ultimately, Mel's teaching reflects her values: presence, purpose, wellbeing, and a deep love for sharing yoga as a lifelong practice.
